FAMILIAR PLACES.
DIFFERENT PROBLEMS.
Same streets.
Same buildings.
Different reasons to want to leave.
Introducing FAMILIAR PLACES, DIFFERENT PROBLEMS, an urban punk graphic T-shirt combining bleak architectural imagery, distressed underground poster aesthetics and the unmistakably cynical attitude of Public Hazard™.
At the centre of the artwork stands a towering residential apartment block, its weathered exterior, repetitive balconies and darkened windows creating an atmosphere of urban isolation.
The building dominates the composition, rising above an empty foreground with the imposing presence of somewhere you’ve seen a thousand times but never particularly wanted to visit.
Its stark architecture takes inspiration from ageing housing estates, brutalist urban landscapes and the overlooked corners of everyday city life.
A bare, leafless tree stands beside the building, adding another layer of desolation to the scene.
The entire illustration is rendered in distressed black and antique cream, creating the appearance of an old photocopied photograph or weather-beaten underground punk poster.
Rough textures, scratches, torn-paper effects and scattered imperfections give the artwork a deliberately worn, gritty character.
Across the top sits the unmistakable branding:
PUBLIC HAZARD.
Printed in bold, distressed lettering against an aged cream background, the name gives the design the appearance of an underground street poster.
Beneath the building, the message delivers its quietly cynical observation:
FAMILIAR PLACES.
DIFFERENT PROBLEMS.
A reminder that changing your surroundings doesn’t necessarily mean escaping everything that comes with you.
Different day.
Different situation.
Same questionable decisions.
The entire composition is enclosed within a distressed rectangular cream border, with layered poster fragments and weathered detailing reinforcing the artwork’s urban, underground aesthetic.
Its restricted black and antique cream colour palette gives the design a raw, monochromatic appearance inspired by punk zines, alternative photography and street-level graphic art.
There’s no fantasy here.
No monsters.
No supernatural horrors.
Just ordinary places with their own particular problems.
Sometimes that’s unsettling enough.
Featuring the signature Public Hazard skull emblem on the front chest and detailed urban punk artwork across the back.
Perfect for lovers of alternative fashion, punk clothing, grunge aesthetics, urban photography, underground streetwear and dark, understated humour.
